meet Yoshito Okubo

By: j | January 6th, 2009

Wolfsburg’s new striker Yoshito Okubo arrived at the clubs headquarters and was introduced to the media. The twenty-six year-old striker comes over from J-League side Vissel Kobe and joins fellow Japan international Makoto Hasebe with die Wölfe.

The new man expressed his pleasure on being a part of Wolfsburg:

“I’m delighted to be in Wolfsburg. It’s an honour for me that the trainer has been observing me for such a long time. I will try to meet his expectations and wish to do my best for the team.”

VfL manager Felix Magath said of his sharpshooter:

“I’m delighted about having the opportunity to work together with a player that I’ve had my eye on for quite some time. His attacking qualities make him a player who can be used in a number of offensive positions and that could see him fulfil an important role within the team. I’m sure he’ll feel right at home here and provide both the Bundesliga and the fans with plenty of pleasure.”
