VfL Wolfsburg v Eintracht Frankfurt match preview

Heading into tomorrows match against Eintracht Frankfurt, Wolfsburg manager Felix Magath has the “simple” goal of his club winning its first match of the year away from Volkswagen Arena.

One of the best clubs in the Bundeliga while at home, Wolfsburg is a painful-to-watch travesty away but have a perfect chance to collect all three points Saturday afternoon against the struggling club from Frankfurt. Friedhelm Funkel’s side capable of being a upper table team but are bloated with injuries, including Austrian international Ümit Korkmaz, Ioannis Amanatidis, Zlatan Bajramović, Christoph Preuß and Christoph Spycher as well as Chris who is in the sin-bin and a further question-mark on Martin Fenin’s availability.

Felix Magath, in stating his goal are for die Wölfe to finish fifth said:

“Our goal is to be in fifth place at the end of the 34th match day of the season. I haven’t wasted any time considering the fact that we could move into fifth place on Saturday. The only thing of any importance against Frankfurt is the three points we need towards our goal for the end of season.”

Wolfsburg will see the return of Grafite to the lineup but are without Diego Benaglio and Sascha Riether.

Just curious, how do you rate Barzagli and Zaccardo? How have they fared this season?
