Wolfsburg v Werder Bremen DFB Pokal match preview

By: j | March 3rd, 2009

Wolfsburg welcome Werder Bremen to Volkswagen Arena in the DFB Pokal with a trip to the semi-finals on the line. Speaking to the Bundesliga web-site, newly recovered striker Grafite said of the match:

“we can’t afford to ease off now, we need to concentrate on Wednesday’s game against Bremen. That’s going to be a high-level encounter, but we’re well prepared for it.”

Felix Magath has yet to announce his injury concerns or absences although Zvjezdan Misimović is ready to return to the attack with Bosnian teammate Edin Džeko and Grafite. Diego Benaglio is ready to return to the lineup although André Lenz has done a solid job stepping in.

Thomas Schaaf is dealing with a mess in the goalkeeping aspect as Tim Wiese and Christian Vander are out and U23’s Nico Pellatz and Sebastian Mielitz will need to pick up the slack.
